April 14th 2020 Covid 19 Update

Looks like we’re on the right track here with only 1 new case and the recoveries increasing daily!

Currently we have 7 members on isolation/quarantine with more returning to work and 3 more tested with negative results thank god for that!

We continued discussions with the employer on concerns that have come up.

Removing the benches in the downtown terminal was originally brought up by the employer the week before last, we just kinda went with it thinking it was a good idea to prevent loitering in the downtown terminal, on Friday we asked what the hold up was McDonald instructed Bracken to start removing the benches Tuesday (today) well it seems this has caused a real storm with the public oh and not to mention Transit management did this without letting city council know ahead of time, we’ll see the fall out from this over the next few days.

The masks the employer purchased should start coming in in the next few days and we’ll seeing them handing them out as they come in.

We were very fortunate that LB Distillers was able to donate more hand sanitizer to us, if you need a refill of your spritzer bottle see Customer Service or Deb at Access Transit and they’ll top you off.

We were contacted on the weekend
by Baydo Healthy Life Mutual Aid Organization and Saskatchewan Chinese Entrepreneurs Association who wanted to donate masks for our frontline professionals, they gave us 2000 disposable masks and told us another 2500 are on the way!! Masks have been placed in mailboxes and left in all areas to be dispensed to all our members.

We had limited discussions on the letter I sent the employer with a list of our expectations in regard to keeping our members safe, protected and reimbursed appropriately.

Once again let’s keep up the great work on social distancing at work and at home let’s flatten the curve!
